Here are the basics of what to know for belt testing at EVX Kids:
• Quarterly Testing: March, June, September, and December.
• Rank Stripes: To be eligible, students must have 2 black rank stripes, which are awarded based of the number of classes attended and time at current rank.
• Principle Stripes: Students must also have at least 3 red principal stripes, which are earned from doing the monthly principle sheets.
• An Invitation will be given to each student who is eligible to test based off criteria above, and has shown the proper amount of effort in class.
• There is a $25 belt fee at each belt level and charged only if they pass their test (no fee if they do not pass).
• Not every student will pass. Belts at EVX are earned, never given. A student must know the material, give attention, and show effort during testing.

• In December, we hold the Holiday Test, an opportunity to test for a rank-up without time or class requirements. As long as a student can demonstrate the skills for that level, he or she will be promoted to the next belt.
Belts at EVX are earned, never given. We value hard work and want students to take pride in what they’ve achieved. Martial arts is a fun and character-building journey, but it’s also difficult at times both emotionally and physically. Confidence is achieved by breaking through boundaries and preconceived ideas of limitation. One’s imagination is their only limitation. We encourage parents to help their children practice at home and help them develop their skills. A child having social support (the Dojo), encouraging teachers, and supportive parents all go a long way in helping them succeed.
